Week #1
The first week was a little bit more boring than the second one, because it was more of getting to know what you’re going to work on, knowing your classmates, and some other stuff, although we did go to the South Library to learn how does it work, how is it organized, how does the digital library work, and stuff. Actually, the background of this text is the picture we were asked to take that day.
Week #2
The second week was a little bit more of working and delivering stuff, so I think that because I was more busy all the time, it was more effective. On this week, we learnt what is the scientific method, its steps, what experimentatation implies, how to record your results, and we analized a scientific article. We also went to the lab for the first time on Friday. The background of this text is Lalo and me on Thursday, when we actually discovered that there is another cafeteria in Aulas 2.
Week #3
The third week was very stressful for me, because we had interpartials in every subject. In the third week we learnt what an experiment implies, like it’s variables, their types, etc. We also had an interpartial in which I had a 69.999… which got up to a 70 :(, but overall it was an OK week. Just OK.
Week #4
The fourth week was more calm, that’s why I chose this background. We saw the theories of the origin of life, the creation of the universe, and we all did a PowerPoint presentation that had the theories. On friday, we learnt the characteristics of living things by analyzing a text. This was a way better week than the third one.
Week #5
The fifth week was awkward, because we did a review of the whole first partial for the exam on Wednesday, which incuded new things and things before the interpartial. Also we did an 8 page review and a 12 page homework of things we hadn´t seen the day before te partial, in which I got an 82. On friday, we went to the lab to see the biomolecules that living things need and how to see them on food. It was an awkward week.
Week #6
The sixth week was cool and short, because we did’nt have classes on Monday because it was September 16th, and we celebrate our independance. this week we saw the types of biomolecules that all beings need to be alive, the monomers each of these have, what they are made of, and what does CHONPS stand for. Also, we went on the trip to the evolution museum and we did our report about it. it was a cool week.
Week #7
The seventh week was relaxed, and I understood the classes a bit more than I did before, so I think it was a good week. In thw classes, we learned the differences between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, as well as the whole cell theory, including the important people that contributed to this. We also saw a presentation about the organelles in prokaryotic, eukaryotic, animal, and plant cells. It was a good week.
Week #8
The eighth week was pretty normal, because we worked as usually. On monday, we saw thw types of cell transportation there are and how are they done . On wednesday, Diego, Rafa and I did the second part of the key activity in which we talked about the evolution of the speices and on friday we went to the lab and saw some plants and animal tissues in the microscope and saw the structure that their cells have. It was a normal, yet productive week.
Week #9
The nineth week was pretty, like it had that cool factor in it. On monday, we did a review of the things we had seen in the second partial; and on wednesday we presented our project as an interpartial and it was cool. On friday we didn’t have class, and we actually only had one class because of MUN. It was a pretty awesome week, I feel happy :).
Week #10
Wow, week 10 already? It sounds like quite a lot, even though it hasn’t really felt like 10 weeks because they are fun, mostly. Anyways, this was a cool week, we saw about the process of fermentation, photosynthesis, cellular respiration on monday. On wednesday and friday we saw about the process of making aminoacids, the types of RNA and all that stuff. Cool week tho.
Week #11
This week was kind of heavy, because of the whole partials thing and that, but it was fun. On monday, we did a review of the things that were going to come on the exam, which was on wednesday. I got an 85 which I am proud of ;). On friday, we had a lab practice about lactic acid fermentation.
Week #12
Week number twelve was normal, because we saw things in every class, there was no day off, no lab, no partial, etc. On monday we saw about how do chromosomes work, and how are they grouped, and how does cell reprodution work, and we saw meiosis and mitosis wednesday. On friday we learnt about how the malformations of the chromosomes can affect the development of the body, and how are they called.
Week #13
Week number thirteen was fun, because we saw funnier and more interesting themes than the other weeks. On monday we saw inherency, and howdo dominant and recesive genes work. On wednesay, we talked aboutour progress and how has the semester overall gone. On friday we put on rctice what we saw on Monday, while working on a table to see how inherency works. It was a fun week.
